Help Us Feed San Diego’s Hungry – Sept. 25th

Baseball 21 Sep 2010

Have you ever had to decide whether to spend your last few dollars on food for your children, or to pay the utility bill to stay warm? Hopefully not, but every week thousands of families right here in San Diego do.

The good news is there is someone there to help – Feeding America San Diego (FASD)…and you and me!  Over 73,000 of our neighbors, family members, and co-workers receive emergency assistance from FASD each week. Nearly half of those recipients are children under the age of 18!

September is Hunger Action Month, and there is a way for you to make a difference that has never been easier, or more rewarding. John “The Coach” Kentera and I will be hosting Feeding America San Diego’s Stuff The Truck event during our World Baseball Network (WBN) broadcast on Saturday Sept. 25th.  We will be broadcasting live from 9:00-11:00 am at the Ralphs supermarket at the intersection of Montezuma Rd. and El Cajon Blvd., near SDSU.

John and I will be shaking hands, while giving and raffling away…

  • WBN t-shirts & hats
  • Padres tickets
  • Tour of the CH4 Pregame & Postgame shows, and PETCO Press box
  • Autographed items signed by your favorite Padres players
  • 3 Free Months of Cox Cable (courtesy Cox Communications)
  • $50 gift certificate to Bamboo Sushi
  • $50 gift card for Under Armour athletic apparel (courtesy GTS Athletic)

…and more!  All you need to do is bring some non-perishable goods from your pantry, or pledge to give a few hours of your time to volunteer, and you’re in the drawings.

Please join us as we help Feeding America San Diego to provide meals to over 400,000 of our neighbors each year, and give your self a chance to win some fun prizes while making a difference.
