Hey Scan comments about our suits.

“Ok Bob, why the suit? It’s baseball not a fashion show! Time to loose the suits! Plus it’s San Diego. Love your show.” – Ed

Hey Ed,

Wow, this was a topic for us 4 years ago when we first started Postgame show, but we can revisit.

  1. 1. It’s a television broadcast where people are inviting us into their homes, so we are expected to look nice.
  2. 2. Most other Postgame show hosts wear a coat and tie because it brings a bit of class to the broadcast.    Personally the few that I’ve seen where they were wearing polo shirts looked schlocky (is that a word?).
  3. 3. The shows don’t only air in San Diego, but Las Vegas, Arizona, and now all the other cities that get the MLB package, so we are representing S.D. to the rest of the world, and want to look professional.
  4. 4. Our bosses tell us to!

Here are some comments form viewers who appreciate the effort:

“Big ups on tonight’s suit…looks sharp.” – Daniel

“Bob, really great to see you again this year and of course our Padres.  You and Jenny look superb in your threads.” – Shirley

You’re not alone, Ed.  Some people really like the look and appreciate the effort, some don’t. Either way, we truly appreciate you watching the show, and for caring enough to send me an email.

By the way, if you are looking for a great custom suit, (truly custom, hand fitted to your every dimension and need) check out Greg Chapman Custom Tailored Clothes. Greg does a fantastic job of creating outfits for people of all sizes, and all walks of life. Whether you wear a suit once a week, or every day of your life (like Padre Postgame show hosts), if you want the best fitting suit you’ll ever own, contact Greg and he’ll schedule you in during his next round of client visits in San Diego.

In the immortal words of Ron Burgundy – “Stay classy, San Diego”.

Thanks for your email, and for watching the show!

As far as the design, I really like the home page. I think the design really looks good. It stands out and it is definitely unique. On the inner pages perhaps a different color for the font like grey instead of the white. Not sure but I am sure you will have plenty of time to mess around with it.

As far as the suits, I really like them and it will take a little time to get use to them. It does look better and more professional.

As for the MGM, the only bet I made was the under on Saturday’s game. The total was 10.5 and it took for ever with the 14 innings but it was a great game. I like the over of 71.5 but didn’t want to go back to Vegas to pick up my winnings. :)

Lastly, this appears to be a WP blog. Correct? You seem fairly tech savvy. There are a lot of cool Plugin’s you could add to get users more involved. I would add one for comments. For example, I just happened to come back and check the blog post to see if you left a response but most comment plugin’s will send out an auto email letting the user know there is a response to your comment. Just a thought. I spend a lot of time marketing. Hence the “San Diego Real Estate” name vs. Alex.

    Talk to you soon.

Hey SDR, THANKS for the posts and for the suggestion of changing the background color. I was trying to keep some consistency in the look of the site, but I can see where the background may be tough on some people’s eyes. I will look into making a change here, especially if it will help other visitors to participate more. I really like hearing visitors thoughts on these various topics.

As for Mud, I was just wondering on Facebook if it were up to him what would he wear? I could only conclude that a Speedo with the SD logo, and one of his hats would be just about his speed.

Sports book at MGM – nice! Did you place a bet on Pads winning over 71.5 games?

Also, I was in Vegas last weekend and did watch the games in the sports book at the MGM so I can understand the suits. I have to say it was nice seeing them because in the past I could never see games outside of San Diego.

I like the suits on post game but I would prefer to kill the suits during the telecast. Can’t handle seeing Mud in a suit. Think that it would look better to be a bit more casual like years in the past.

Also, just a random comment / suggestion. Do you think you would consider going with a lighter color on this blog? I find my eyes getting lost in the text with the black background. Just a thought, no big deal. Not trying to be negative here. :)

Besides that, I really enjoy this blog and think your doing a great job Scan!
