More Padres Roster Changes On The Way

Jed Hoyer and he Padres continued to prowl the waiver wires yesterday and claimed RHP Drew Carpenter from the Phillies.

Carpenter, 26, has gone 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA (8 ER/9.1 IP) and 10 strikeouts against four walks over six relief appearances for Philadelphia this season.  Over 34 relief outings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley this year, he is 5-1 with a 1.79 ERA (12 ER/60.1 IP), a .213 (48-for-225) opponents batting average and 65 strikeouts against 11 walks.

Anthony Rizzo and James Darnell are both expected to be called up soon as well.
