Padres Make Last Minute Roster Moves On Opening Day

The Padres made one last roster move in preparation for their opening game against the Dodgers.

 

 

 

DISABLED LIST:

  • Tim Stauffer – RHP:  Goes to the 15-Day DL (retroactive April 4) with a strained right elbow.  Tim complained about soreness in his right triceps after his last spring start, and was moved to the 5th spot in the rotation to allow for more time to rest.
RECALLED:
  • Brad Brach – RHP:  Brad had a very solid spring going 3-1, and posting a 1.69ERA in 12 appearances. He was the last pitcher optioned to Tucson when the final roster was announced.  Brach will work out of the bullpen in short relief.
OUTRIGHTED:
  • Erik Hamren  – RHP:  Hamren cleared waivers and was assigned to AA San Antonio, clearing another spot on the 40 man roster which now has 39 players on it.
