Stauffer To Miss Next Start; Bass Gets Nod

Baseball 18 Sep 2011

Tim Stauffer will miss his next scheduled start due to the stiff forearm that caused him to leave the game in the 6th of Friday’s victory of the Diamondbacks.

Anthony Bass will start in Stauffer’s place on Wednesday.  It will be Bass’s second start for the Pads, to go along with 24 relief appearances.  He’s posted a 1-0 record, and 1.88 ERA.

The Padres and Stauffer are still hopeful that he will only miss this one start, and be able to complete the season with what would be his scheduled let start against the Cubs the following Tuesday.

Well deserved! It’ll be interesting to see what the kid has learned since his last start. And Jordan, there are many Padre fans who still care. But it’s okay if you don’t.

I agree w/ Dean– where are the giveaways? It’s been a long, painful season so a freebee would ease the pain.

FIrst – I care. Unless you want the see losing baseball next year Padres’ fans better care about the health of one of the guys who pitched well most of the season and likely will be back next year. Also I want these young guys to make the most of their opportunity and maybe Bass becomes a mainstay of the rotation which helps the team…so I DO care. Second – Dean, I am not running out of time, YOU are running out of time. I am simply offering goodies to you guys if we could get to 1K. I want to give stuff away, but it is all of you who really hold the chance to benefit, so if we can still get there I am HAPPY to give a away some duckets or Under Armour stuff – not too late!!!!!

I know, Dean, I know. I wish we could have gotten there before season’s end, but we can still give away the Under Armour apparel courtesy GTSathletic.com when we get there, which is still nice to have. Still looking forward to giving something away soon!

There are still fans who care! I just hope that all the innings haven’t killed his arm. Timmy has been one of the few good points of a sucky season.
