Anyone who follows the Padres realizes that the team has been in a terrible slide, having lost an unimaginable 10 games straight. No one denies that this team is currently staring straight into the face of throwing away what so far has been one of the most unexpectedly fun, and successful seasons in recent history.

Hey Padres fans, isn’t it time to stop using the terms “Little”, “Small”, and “Baby” in nicknames for the Padres? Isn’t it time for this organization to grow up, and sit at the big boys’ table?
It’s that time of year when every team needs to make the determination, “Are we buyers, or sellers with the trade deadline approaching?” For some the answer is obvious, but for others the answer is not so clear. Either way the possibility of trades, either to get that one piece that can put a team over the top, or to start the rebuilding process for the future, creates a firestorm of speculation, opinions, and rumors.
Congratulations to Adrian Gonzalez for making the 2010 National League “All-Star” team!

Despicable, embarrassing, awful, disgraceful, are just some of the adjectives I‘ve heard in the past 48 hours describing Jim Joyce’s missed call at first, which cost Detroit Tiger starting pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game. Many have labeled this just another “Black Eye” for baseball, but I see it as one of it’s shining moments.
