Answer to our last question:   Of the pitchers currently in the Padres spring training camp which one has the highest MLB (not minor league) career average for strikeouts per 9 innings?  Answer:  Young right-hander Burch Smith currently has the highest career MLB K/9 ratio of any Padre in camp striking out 11.4 batters per 9 innings pitched.

    I’ll go with Tyson Ross. Almost 10K’s per 9 in the 2nd half has to factor into contact rate.

    Definitely have to go with Tyson Ross. I remember shortly after he came back from his injury last year, he struckout 5 or 6 Giants in 2 innings of relief. Right after that he went back to starting, and the rest is history.
