Hey-Scan Trivia Challenge 4/12/14

san-diego-padres tickets bannerWith Andrew Cashner throwing a 1-hit shutout last night, I was wondering who was the last Padres pitcher prior to tonight to throw a 1-hit shootout at Petco?

Answer to today’s question will be revealed with our next challenge.

Our last question:  Last night the Padres had 8 extra base hits.  What are the most extra base hits the Padres have hit in a single game? Answer:  On August 12th, 2007 in Cincinnati  the padres banged out 12 extra base hits, setting a new and still existing franchise record.

Unfortunately there were no correct answers for this question.

All the correct answers to today’s trivia challenge that are submitted here before the answer is given in the next day’s question will become eligible to win their choice of either 2 tickets to a Padres game, or some other Padres related item.  The more Trivia Challenges you answer correctly, the more chances you have to win! Random drawing for this month’s winner will be held May 1st, and winner will be announced on this website.

Thanks for playing along, and good luck!

Volquez…though ironically Cashner was the last Padre to throw a 1 hitter last year against Pit in Sept.

Edinson Volquez! That was actually the last Padres game I went to! Sitting in the left field stands with my dad. It was one of those coulda/woulda/shoulda one-hitters, as the only hit was an infield single that Volquez misplayed. If it had happened later in the game, they might’ve given him a homer call and called it an error. One hitting the Astros is not quite as impressive as one hitting the Tigers, but is still pretty good.
