HeyScan Trivia Challenge 3/17/14

san-diego-padres tickets bannerWho owns the Padres record for most hits in a 9-inning game?

Answer to today’s question will be revealed with our next challenge.

Answer to our last question:  Which current Padres player had both his first MLB hit (a single), and his first MLB home run against former Cy Young winner Roger Clemens? Answer:  On Auguts 18, 2007 Cameron Maybin got his first MLB hit off Roger Clemens, and followed that up later in the game with his first MLB home run also victimizing Clemens. Wonder if he got plunked his next time up?

Congratulations, there were 14 correct answers to yesterday’s question (some of them creative too!), and those 14 will become eligible for this month’s drawing.  This month’s winner will be randomly selected at the end of the month.

All the correct answers to today’s trivia challenge that are submitted here before the answer is given in the next day’s question will become eligible to win 2 tickets to a Padres game!  The more Trivia Challenges you answer correctly, the more chances you have to win! Random drawing for this month’s winner will be held April 1st, and winner will be announced on this website.

Thanks for playing along, and good luck!

Tony Gwynn’s career high was 6 hits aparently… in 1993, so that’s my guess. I can’t find if it was within 9 though. Hey Scan, if it was within 9, get the Pads to fix their data on this page: http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/sd/history/single_game_records.jsp It has 25 players tied at 5 and 6 players tied at 6 in extra innings.

I’ll point ou tho them that the information is incorrect, however I do believe that most if not all of that content is controlled by MLB.
