Answer: The only name that appears in the Padres record books for both Annual Pitching Leaders and Annual Batting Leaders is Dave Roberts…but it’s not the same Dave Roberts. Dave Arthur Roberts pitched of the Padre from 1969-1971, and in ’71 lead the Padres and the league with a 2.10 ERA. Dave Ray Roberts is the current bench coach for the Padres and played for the Friars in 2005 and 2006, and lead the Padres in stolen bases and triples in both those seasons.
